Making the Heart of Jesus known and loved

The Emmanuel Community will continue the tour of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque’s Major Relics in the United States once the Knights of Columbus’ tour has finished.

Between 1673 and 1675, St. Margaret Mary, a sister of the Monastery of the Visitation in Paray-le-Monial, received apparitions of Jesus, who made known to her the immense love of his Sacred Heart. He lamented that he is not loved in return, and he asked her to spread the devotion to the Sacred Heart throughout the world.

The traveling reliquary contains her two clavicles, two of her ribs, and a small piece of her brain. Relics are physical reminders that heaven is obtainable for us. When we venerate them, we thank God for our spiritual family and ask the saints to intercede for us.

We invite pilgrims on a “Journey to the Heart of Jesus” as they come to venerate her. She helps those who come to discover the secrets of his Heart.

Where the relics will be

Veneration is available throughout the day at each parish. Parishes will also screen the film Sacred Heart: His Reign Has No End. Some will hold a Mercy Night of testimony, music and adoration, with confessions offered.

Parishes in Florida and Georgia are also working on final details for stops.

“My divine Heart is so passionate with love for mankind, and for you in particular, that being unable any longer to contain within itself the flames of its burning charity, it must pour them out through you.” Message of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary, Autobiography, §53
